This doesn't bode well for those that have their own business but know nothing of running one. That's why the concept of "franchising" is so important to business.

In terms of what a franchise represents, think of it like this- any business that is successful enough to run without you there must be doing pretty well. Beyond that, being able to hand someone a handbook about your business, have them copy it, AND turn a profit is what every business desires.
While this level of business usually takes years to create, the concept can be applied on a smaller level. The goal of business is to not work harder, but smarter, to make the maximum profit and get the most out of life.
