This last weekend I drove by a lemonade stand ran by a young woman I work with in a youth group. This stand was not just a plain lemonade stand, she was marketing cherry lemonade. Later that evening I asked her what made her want to sale cherry lemonade. She stated that she wanted to be different and was hoping she would attract more business by having cherry lemonade and not just regular lemonade. I had to ask how it worked out for her. She was a little disappointed that she had only made $5.00 after subtracting the cost of materials it took to make the cherry lemonade.

Goal setting is valuable to your success

You have read on my site that 3% of people have a net worth of $1 million or more, the other 97% work to make them richer. The 3% understand and grasp one simple concept. It is they set goals for themselves. Goal setting is a valuable part of each businesses success.

Start first by sitting down and writing both short and long term goals. Review your goals daily. As you accomplish short term goals it will bring you closer to your long term goals. You will feel better about yourself and give you the motivation needed to achieve your success.

Today I started my day working a few hours looking out at the San Diego Bay. The rest of the time was spent with my family and enjoying this beautiful city. I am greatful for this portabale business. It has allowed me to manage my time so that I can enjoy what matters to me the most. Time is so valuable. You too can have the opportunity to spend your time the way you want.

Happiness is the Key to Success

I happened upon this article in the Guardian that talks about a study published stating that happiness is the key to success- not the other way around. This totally makes sense!! How many people do you know that are completely miserable at their job, and going no where at it? And inversely, how many happy people do you know that are moving quickly up the ladder of success? Also, you can look at it a different way: how many happy people are stagnant at their job, that WANT to be moving up?
